Let’s Play “Match That Camper 2”

We received more evaluations from Church Camp this week. I’m adding them to those already distributed and expanding the game.
Some of the volunteer staff who shepherded campers from 1st UMC Kennett wanted to take some additional time to share their observations of this time spent with God and other campers. It is up to each staff volunteer to decide if they want to complete these forms. So we may not get evaluations on all the campers. Basically all this means is that the volunteer who gave a week of their time to help our kids learn more about their place in God’s world didn’t feel like they had the time or energy to do the evaluations too.
I thank God there are people who are willing to serve the week and believe the evaluations are simply icing on the cake.
Let’s see if you can match the camper with the observation. The most accurate entrant will receive a Kennett United Methodist Church coffee mug. (in case of a tie the winner will be chosen with a random drawing). Good luck.

Observation 1:
Always talking and enjoying time with the other campers but was still able to settle down and listen when it came time to be serious. Volunteered to pray out loud during group time and was always willing to answer questions on bible study. Loved to sing during worship. Very fun loving girl who is always smiling. A joy to be around.
Observation 2:
Always had enough energy to cover everyone, participate in all songs and games too. She showed love in many different ways and everyone felt welcome. Is a big ball of fun and joy to be around.
Observation 3:
From the moment of arrival always energetic and smiling. We never had any problems with her interacting with the other girls. She is a favorite among the campers. Loved to pray out loud during group time and always was attentive and responsive during bible study. Loved singing during worship. Is such a joy to be around. Her happiness makes her wonderful. God shines through her with her willingness to help others.
Observation 4:
Always socializing, made a point to include everyone she could. Always participated in games and camp activities. Volunteered to read a verse for Vespers service. Discovered ways to use what she is good at to please God. Is a great girl to have around. She’s vibrant and has the potential to be a great Christian.
Observation 5:
Had a lot of fun during swim time and showed compassion for everyone. Always was enthusiastic about all activities. Learned a church song in sign language and loved it. She was usually quiet but always was having fun with everyone. She had a great week.
Observation 6:
Participates well, made friends within and outside the cabin group. Seems to be searching for answers and it’s encouraging that he/she uses the bible as a tool in her search. Expresses her/his feelings well. Recognizes a strong support system In the Kennett Youth/Chris
Observation 7:
Was great in family group and was able to suggest some fun games for everyone to play. Was great at softball! Helped in discussions with family group. Even through a difficult week with the death in the family, was positive and up-beat. Has a wonderful voice and is wonderful to hear sing.
Observation 8:
Was part of a group from his/her cabin that acted out a short skit during the talent show. Also participated in the music/drama interest group. As part of this group, acted in the play on Friday night and sang at Vespers every evening. Has a very strong faith for her/his age and was always willing to lead a prayer for the group. Was an absolute joy to have both in family group and cabin!
Observation 9:
Wow…what did he/she not do? Have an amazing talent for staying involved, making her/his presence known and bringing others into the excitement. He/she was always volunteering for games – whether in family groups or whole camp. A friend to all. You can see God in him/her. She/he has the fire in her/his eyes. She/he led our family group discussions, asked many questions, shared his/her faith journey and really grew. He/she was supposed to leave Friday morning but decided to stay for our big relay race because she/he didn’t want to let her/his team down.
Observation 10:
Was very outgoing at camp – friend to all, stranger to none. Enthusiastic participant in everything. He/she was very confident in sharing her/his faith, leading prayer, and expressing feelings and opinions. She/he made efforts to reach out to other campers on the periphery of the group.
Observation 11:
She/he was a quiet but fun camper. He/she was very much a part of the group. She/he may be in the early stages of growth, but seemed to really be interested in our discussions. I found him/her to be a soft spoken but great joy in our group of kids.
Observation 12:
She/he was a lot of fun at camp. He/she seemed to be a great kid and a good friend to all. I think that he/she grew a lot this week with God. It was truly a pleasure having him/her as a camper this week.
Observation 13:
He/she is a very active person who is always laughing and happy. She/he always volunteered to play games – no matter how crazy. He/she learned about God through vespers, input sessions, campfires, family groups, and music. She/he participated in a covenant of silence where who spent alone time with the Lord.
Observation 14:
She/he is very sociable and kind to fellow campers, participating in everything to the fullest extent. It was a joy having him/her in the cabin this year.
Observation 15:
He/she was great at all of our silly games and a willing camper, a good friend to all. She/he seemed to have a good foundation of faith with a willingness to learn. I was very blest to have shared a great week with her/him.
Observation 16:
Showed a love of life through all her/his interactions at camp. Is a joy to watch as she/he shares his own joy for life and others. Asked important questions and sincerely looked to grow while he/she was here this week. In just one week, his/her personal faith grew. Also aided in the growth of her/his fellow campers.
Observation 17:
He/she is a very good friend to all fellow campers and seemed to have a good time at camp. Although she/he is very quiet and seems a little shy it doesn’t reflect in his love for God. It was great having him/her in my cabin these last two years.
Observation 18:
He/she works extremely well with others, and has a knack for being “the life of the party.” She/he directs her/his musical and social gifts to the worship of God. I pray she/he continues to burn as I have seen him/her burn this week. She/he put me to shame on the guitar! I hope to be as good as he/she is some day.
Observation 19:
He/she was highly helpful in family games and interest groups. She/he played ultimate Frisbee this week and was beneficial in every match. I believe he/she did grow in Christ, but more importantly; she/he led others further down the path. I truly see God in him/her. It pains me to know she/he has her/his condition. However, I ‘m overwhelmed by how little it affects her/him. His/her joy is unending and I can’t wait to see him/her next year!
Write your name at the top and the name of the camper you believe matches each observation and turn it in to the church office. A winner will be announced on during worship on August 8th. Enter as often as you’d like but only one entry per person will pass along into the prize drawing.
