Outside God’s Window

I’ve been known to spend time just looking out the window. Sometimes its early morning or late night. Other times its the middle of the day. Looking out windows just trying to see what you can see is a good way to clear the mind.
I’ve noticed birds of every sort, some squirrels, and oddly shaped clouds morphing from rabbit to smiling face to mountain ranges as they float through the sky. I’ve seen groups of humans walking or pedaling down the street. Some even pulling or pulled by dogs on leashes. It is always interesting to take time to notice the other creatures of God’s creation who pass through our space.
I wonder what God sees outside heaven’s windows? The good news is that we’ve got some expert window gazers who spent time with God just looking out the window. We’ll be spending the month of July trying to see what they saw.
We call them “Prophets” and in particular we’ll be listening to John, Amos, and Hosea; trying to see what God pointed out to them as they sat by the window and looked at the world. Come join us at the corner of College and Washington every Sunday as we look outside God’s window.

I saw a lot of “God Things” outside my window last week. I saw a city that still needs lots of work and time and money. I saw lots of young people throw their hands in and work hard. I saw Kennett youth shine above and beyond what the others did. Montrel and David did an awesome job leading worship during the work camp. Katie, Montrel and David each gave a devotion. Jacob was our unoffical spokes person for share time. Emily and Madison befriended the young person whose house we were working on. Elaine lent her wisdom to the underclassmen. And I saw my son in a different light – he was no longer “my kid” but a young man. It was a good week. Thanks to everyone that supported us through prayers and money.
